Belinda Underwood and Dan Gaynor
Belinda Underwood (upright bass, voice) and Dan Gaynor (piano) represent Portland’s versatile jazz youth, products of jazz education systems who were also closely mentored by a rich pantheon of jazz masters from Portland, San Francisco and New York. Because of the levels of musicianship that jazz backgrounds have afforded them, they are both in-demand in bands spanning jazz, latin, funk, pop, bluegrass, mid-eastern, folk, classical genres and more. In between their own musical projects and national tours, they enjoy bringing radically creative original songs and improvisation to their jazz duo.
