The Creative Music Guild (CMG) is a Portland-based non-profit dedicated to bringing the best in cutting-edge creative improvised music to Portland.

As part of the 2009 Portland Jazz Festival, we are thrilled to present three artists from three different cities, united in their dedication to exploring the outer limits of improvisation. By combining traditional approaches with highly developed extended techniques, these musicians spin sound worlds full of color and imagination, traversing both the familiar and the unexpected.

An emerging figure in the European improv scene, and a key member of the distinctive Beirut improvised music community, this will be Christine Sehnaoui's first time performing in the NW.
